Touchdown for a day of art, music, and family fun at the Cosmic Carnival, a free community art festival at Off the Walls Arts! 

Open to all ages, the Cosmic Carnival will feature and celebrate the talents of young artists and performers from across our city, with live music by the Memphis Youth Symphony, and an alien-inspired fashion show from students at Crosstown High School and Bellevue Middle School.

Marvel at the acrobatic wonders of the High Expectations aerial performers in our immersive art installation, and cultivate the creative skills of your young artist at our kids art-making stations. 

Grab a bite to eat at a local food truck, visit our astrophotography exhibit by Memphis Astronomical Society, or just mingle with your fellow Memphians. No matter your vibe, the Cosmic Carnival has something for you!

Blast off into the stars and explore new worlds at the grand opening of Planet LUMINARUS—a community-built immersive art installation and performing arts space!

Experience our "big bang" celebration featuring sculptural works by Infinity Stairs, Greely Myatt, Yvonne Bobo, and other local artists. Discover the beauty of the cosmos at Celestial Visions, an astrophotography exhibition in collaboration with the Memphis Astronomical Society, and enjoy mesmerizing theremin performances by Alex Greene and Kate Tayler. Join us for a night where art, science, and music collide!

$10 suggested donation. All proceeds support Off the Walls Arts & participating artists.

We are inviting artists (and everyone) to preview our soon-to-be completed Planet LUMINARUS multimedia installation and performing arts space, where work submitted to our extraterrestrial-themed Call for 3D Art will exhibited in May.

We’re seeking artworks envisioning alternative or alien life forms–flora, fauna, large or small–that might live on and populate our imagined planet. All 3D media is welcome!

In a retrospective exhibition spanning 10 years of work, artist and photographer Don Gaines reflects on what it means to hold on to the physical in the face of loss. 

His exhibition celebrates life’s precious moments through the act of letting go — as the artist says of human experience, “It often seems that the more we let go the more we receive.” Gaines’ work captures his travels to Australia, Cuba, Japan, Europe, and living a life in Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. 

Visitors are encouraged to take home pieces off the gallery wall at a pay-what-you-will rate.

It may be back to school season, but summer isn’t over yet! Keep the party rolling at the OFF THE RAILs Band Bash FUNraiser, featuring all your favorite local bands, a full bar, hot dog grill-out, and raffle for a uniquely acquired piece of railroad memorabilia! 

All event proceeds will fund the development of OFF THE RAILs Art Line: our current mission to transform a 1.4 mile stretch of decommissioned railroad in South Memphis into a pedestrian green-line.

Headlining is WorkDog Rag, with performances later by Tennessee Screamers, The Turnstiles, the Doughrollers, and Macrophonics!
